Can You Count In Chinese?

1- yī
2 – èr
3 – sān
4 – sì
5 – wǔ
6 – liù
7 – qī
8 – bā
9 – jiǔ
10 – shí

11 – is ten and one, shíyī

12 – shí’èr

13, 14, 15…ect. – are just the same

20 – is two and ten, èrshí

21 – èrshíyī

22- èrshí’èr

30 – sānshí

40 – sìshí

50 – wǔshí

99- jiǔshíjiǔ

Play the Don’t Say game with your friends. To play you don’t say the numbers in red and remember to say them in Chinese numbers we have just seen. Take it in turns to say the number, I will say yī and you say èr, and continue this pattern. When you come to 8, clap and don’t say it.
