Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) offers online degrees specialised in aviation, yes an online degree provider for aviation, and the best in the world (I believe), it is refereed to by people to be ‘the Harvard of the sky.’ Being the world’s largest, and fully accredited private university for aviation and aerospace. It has a worldwide campus along with on-campus buildings in Daytona Beach, Florida, Prescott, and Arizona.
You don’t have to get a degree to further your education either, they offer a range of professional programs, corporate training, seminars, and workshops. That run alongside degree programs that range from certificates ($500* subject to change) to doctorates. The certificates are offered online, however you still gain the Embry-Riddle name on your certificate when you graduate, which recognizes that you have studied at a global leader university in aviation and aerospace.
They also offer business courses related to aviation and aerospace being industry leaders. For organisations looking for training programs for aviation then Embry-Riddle is well suited offering highly specialised programs that are flexible to you and your organisation, and they will work with you to design the best program, through administering it on-site, or through customizing the education and training at a facility of your choice.
Having highly recommended this university, see the list of beginner certificates at the bottom of their page here, alternatively see their higher education fees here. I also emailed them regarding the undergraduate bachelor degree, and they responded saying:
The bachelor’s degree consists of 120 credit hours, equivalent to 40 classes. As of July 1, 2014 the cost per credit hour is $335, at that tuition rate the total cost of the program would be $40,200. Online classes are accessed via our Ernie.erau.edu website. The classes are set up in 9 week modules, each week 1 module opens and you will complete assignments and discussion board posts, at the end of the week that module closes and another opens beginning your next week. Payment for class is required at enrollment for that class, at the undergraduate level classes begin every month. You will be required to have your previous schooling evaluated by an ERAU approved foreign credential evaluation (http://worldwide.erau.edu/admissions/international-students/index.html)
Embry-Riddle Worldwide Online offers degrees designed to complement a career as a professional pilot, however, we do not offer flight training. It is the student’s responsibility to complete flight training through an FAA approved independent flight training school. For more information on independent flight training and a listing of FAA licensed flight schools, you may want to review this useful AOPA website: (Not affiliated with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) http://www.beapilot.com/.
